Matt confirmed that The Terraces at Bonita Springs is a very secure structure and that it would have to be an extremely devastating storm to require an evacuation, but advised that we should all be prepared just in case.
Some of the highlights Matt suggested include:
Visit the WINK-TV Hurricane Center in advance to be prepared with a disaster plan

Help Your Neighbor
We are a community and should help others when we can.
Born in Melbourne, Florida, Matt shared stories of his childhood and how he became interested in meteorology starting at age 7. After attending college up north, he moved to Texas for his first TV job. He personally experienced a hurricane evacuation in TX and had to help his parents and his grandmother leave town – an adventure that provided him with a good foundation of what to do…and what not to do.
The audience was totally engaged and asked many follow up questions. Residents participated with their own stories of Hurricane Irma and what it was like at The Terraces during that time (see more about their experience):

The event was both educational and entertaining, and left everyone feeling more secure and informed.
